Why the Asterix Tour?

Back in 2021, during the height of the pandemic, 3 of us (Safely) went to a small course up in Central Washington and were given a "Tip Sheet" that may have been one of the most ridiculous "Tip" sheets we have ever seen. At the end of the day, most of the recommendations were telling us that center of the fairway was ideal or that CLUB SELECTION IS KEY! Who knew that golf needed specific clubs to be accurate and that hitting the center of the fairway or green are ideal! For most common golfers, those ultimately are our goals, but very rarely does it happen.

Sooo, how do we come up with the Asterix Tour? On the 6 hour drive back down, we all started talking about how many funny, obvious sayings there are in golf and one stood out that needed to have a name. The Mulligan Par...or the Mulligan Birdie....or the Mulligan 8 on that short part 5. The second person always makes the first person look bad as our friend (and co-founder) Eric always reminds us. Golf is very hard for most of us with lives (and those with no lives) and for us to go golf 5 days a week is not even remotely possible. Most of us hope to play a couple times a month and may or may not be able to practice. But there is one thing that all of us do, we all take Mulligans when we play. And some of us that are constantly trying to break 100, 90, 80, etc. often need that 1 less stroke to help us break a number. Why not be proud of taking that breakfast ball, going down and crushing your second drive and making par and completely forgetting about the first ball you smashed so far out of bounds that everyone knows it shouldn't count.

The Mulligan Par and the Mulligan Birdie are the crux of what we feel is the best Tour out there. THE ASTERIX TOUR! Stop being ashamed of putting down your 4* next to your score or ultimately your 89*. One of our slogans is that we should all have a goal of going Low (ish). Or when someone asked you what you scored, go ahead and tell them that you shot an Asterix 89 (Shown 89*). We fully believe in respecting the game, so everyone knows you are lying if your 100 scores becomes 79, but no one will question your awesome 99*. We want to encourage others to play golf and care less about that random stroke here and there. Take that score that makes you want to come out again the following week!

Welcome to the Asterix Tour - Glad to have you here!
