Wolf Creek, Mesquite, NV
Overview
This majestic and visually stunning golf course is interwoven through the contours of Sun City
Mesquite’s canyons and landforms. It features dramatic elevations and descents that can be fully
appreciated by riding along each hole. Wolf Creek Golf Club is located 75 minutes away from the
Las Vegas Strip.
Pro Tip: If playing Wolf Creek for the first time, attempt to play with golfers who have played it
previously as they can provide some strategic advice, especially on semi-blind shots. Or consider
booking rounds on consecutive days; the second round will allow you to truly appreciate the
masterful creativity of the course design. Since correct club selection is key, bring a rangefinder that adjusts for the elevation changes

What Was Impressive

-
The manner in which each hole is carved around the canyons and landforms.
-
Dramatic elevation changes.
-
Pro Tip: Walk up to the Challenger tee box on hole 2, which is the highest point on the course, and soak in the overall scenery and beauty of the area.
-
Multiple signature holes: Holes 2, 7, 12, and 17 are particularly memorable.
-
Course conditions were impeccable.

What Could Be Improved

-
Be aware that the driving range only allows for irons. Since driver plays such a key on this course, it would be helpful to have a practice range where golfers can warm up with their drivers and woods.
-
Signage between holes could be improved to avoid confusion and missing turns for the next hole.
-
Hole 3 is an overly contrived, long, uphill par 3 that requires a blind tee shot over a very steep cliff to the elevated green. Do not allow this hole early in the round to sully your opinion of the remainder of the golf course. After you crush the side of the hill with your initial tee shot, dig into your bag for that Top Flight ball you found in the rough last week and re-tee.
